PROUD TO BE EMPLOYED

In a country where it used to be that you could be anything you wanted to be as long as you had the energy, motivation, persistence, loyalty, open-mindedness, yearning, empathy, and determination, it seems we have just given up. I remember the first time I had money in my hand that was all mine to spend on anything I wanted. It was a quarter, but I will never forget how it made me feel. I felt the energy. I decided to go to the five & dime to spend my quarter as I knew I could buy more for my money. I was happy with my purchase and motivated to get that next quarter and maybe even more.   

Persistence is something we need every single day to deal with our new challenges. Loyalty to ourselves, family, and job, plus the open-mindedness to accept people for who they are, is persistence.

Yearning for more doesn't seem to be a big deal anymore, perhaps because we already have so much.

Showing empathy towards others gives us courage and strength, so we have the determination to push forward and make a difference.

I am PROUD TO BE EMPLOYED because I chose to be. My job gives me purpose, plus I have many more quarters now!
